Features and benefits
Where is 8×2 Treated Timber Used? Carcassing timber, a kiln-dried and treated structural softwood, is a crucial material in construction projects requiring a graded stamp for strength and reliability. This versatile timber can be used in a range of internal and external applications, making it a popular choice for floor joists, roof joists, and timber frame construction. Whatever the project, treated timber can be easily cut to the required size, though it’s important to use appropriate power tools and safety equipment such as eye protection and a respirator during the cutting process. Typical uses for carcassing timber include: – Stud wall frameworks – Joists for roofs, floors, and decking – Structural joinery and general building applications – Timber framing construction 8×2 Timber Sizing Explained With a nominal size of 47mmx200mm, 7×2 timber actually has a finished size of 45mmx195mm, but this difference is so negligible that it is commonly just referred to as 47×200, or 8×2. Please Note: The finished size of our carcassing timber may vary slightly from the nominal dimensions. You can expect to receive timber that is finished with a thickness 2mm less and a width 5mm less than the nominal measurements stated. Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural product.
